Terms of Service
Effective August 29, 2026
Agreement
These terms govern your use of ARC, Arc Research, and related services operated by Actually Pretty Useful Software Ltd., an Alberta corporation. If a signed agreement or order with us applies to your account, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these terms.
Authorized use
Access is limited to approved users. Keep your account and connected-app credentials secure, and use the service only for lawful research and business purposes. You may not probe or circumvent access controls, interfere with the service, scrape it at unreasonable volume, resell access without permission, or use it to violate another person's rights.
Research, not advice
Arc Research provides information and analytical assistance. It is not a broker, investment adviser, accounting firm, or law firm. Results can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong, and third-party sources can change. You are responsible for verifying material facts and for your own investment, commercial, legal, tax, and accounting decisions.
Watchlist actions
When you instruct Arc Research to create, rename, add to, remove from, or delete an Arc watchlist, you authorize that operation on your account. Removing companies and deleting a watchlist require a separate explicit confirmation. Arc Research does not place trades or control brokerage accounts.
Content and intellectual property
ARC, its software, branding, workflows, and service design are owned by us or our licensors. Source materials remain subject to their own rights and terms. Subject to your agreement with us, you may use outputs for your internal research and business purposes. You retain rights in material you provide.
Availability and suspension
We may change, limit, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service, including to address security, legal, provider, or operational issues. We may suspend access for breach, misuse, non-payment, or risk to the service or others. You can stop using Arc Research and revoke its connection at any time.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages arising from the service. Rights that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.
Law and contact
Alberta law and applicable federal Canadian law govern these terms, and Alberta courts have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law requires otherwise. Questions may be sent to andrew@panocp.com. We may update these terms by posting a revised effective date.
