Who we are

ARC and Arc Research are operated by Actually Pretty Useful Software Ltd., an Alberta corporation. This policy covers ARC's websites, research services, and the Arc Research plugin for ChatGPT and Codex.

Information we process

• Account information, including email address and authentication status.
• Research requests and tool inputs that ChatGPT or Codex sends to Arc Research on your behalf, together with the evidence and results returned.
• Arc watchlist names, membership, and requested changes when you use watchlist tools.
• OAuth grants, security events, IP address, user agent, request timing, and operational logs needed to protect and run the service.

Arc Research does not receive your entire ChatGPT or Codex conversation. It receives the tool calls and related context that the host sends when the plugin is used.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate approved users, answer research requests, perform requested watchlist operations, maintain service reliability, prevent misuse, provide support, and comply with law. We do not sell personal information or use private watchlist data for advertising.

Service providers and sources

We use service providers for hosting, authentication, security, transactional email, and data processing. Research results may incorporate public filings, company materials, market data, news, transcripts, and other licensed or public sources. We disclose personal information only as needed to operate the service, comply with law, protect users, or complete a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention and security

We retain account, OAuth, watchlist, and operational information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, contractual obligations, security, and legal requirements. You can revoke the Arc Research connection in ChatGPT or Codex. Watchlists remain in your Arc account until you delete them or request account closure. We use technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information, or object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
